This film was made in Cafe Tissardmine, on the edge of the Moroccan Sahara, while I was there with Alchemy Film & Art’s residency programme. It has since toured as part of On the Move, a curated programme of selected works by the Scottish Borders-based Moving Image Makers Collective.
18-91 aims to reflect on feelings of anxiety regarding travel, movement, and an overwhelming feeling of not being able to see beyond the flight to Morocco. It meditates on my own physicality once I do arrive – disrupting matter and planting my feet – and a discomfort regarding quests for authentic experiences while a tourist.
